SPL appointed Lexmark parts wholesaler

The African IT parts distributor, SPL, has announced its appointment as an authorised Lexmark parts wholesaler for Africa.

SPL said that the appointment will offer the opportunity for Lexmark to boost its reach and grow its market share into a number of new customer segments, and will see improved consumer satisfaction through its own quality genuine parts being readily available.

Likewise, SPL will win by adding the respected Lexmark brand to its portfolio and strengthening its print and imaging range.

The announcement stated: “This appointment will build a strong relationship between the two brands as SPL’s reputation for customer service and for delivering on very short lead times in the IT and spare parts business was critical in the final decision, as was SPL’s extensive African footprint and its ability to finance large-part stockholdings.”

SPL’s sales team deals directly with Lexmark dealers, supplying them with an array of hardware spare parts they need, along with a full-service offering, including delivery throughout southern Africa.

SPL said it has embarked on extensive internal training and has committed to dedicating resources to this brand to ensure quality technical knowledge and customer support on a daily basis.

“Lexmark is a natural fit for SPL,” said SPL Director Chris Cox. “We have a similar culture and value system, but we also see ourselves as more than just a parts supplier; we are game-changers. We have innovated our offerings to enable our customers to get the full benefit from their purchases. SPL’s latest initiative, iSuppli, is a fully visible closed-loop system in place for stock management in real time, from parts ordering to order tracking and a reverse logistics system.”
