The Ninestar secret is no more

The Ninestar secret is out, Ninestar will be launching their Instinkt programme at Paperworld later this week and they are looking for partners.

The Instinkt programme is a monthly printing package for end-users that charges based on the number of printing pages rather than the amount of ink that is used.

The Instinkt programme supports the mainstream inkjet printers brands such as HP, Epson, Canon and Brother and initially providing compatible inkjet cartridges. Compatible toner cartridges, ribbons and printers will be added in the future.

According to Ninestar, “IDC shows that the global printer demand shrank by from 70 million in 2012 to 58 million in 2019. Traditional sale in the aftermarket is struggling in the current Internet era and paperless society. Printer OEMs have changed their profit model from the traditional razor-and-blade concept and moving to a high-cost machine and low-cost consumables model, that squeezes the profit margins of aftermarket dealers. The printer OEMs innovation of their business models also makes the aftermarket walk on the thin ice. For example, HP’s Instant Ink has tightly bonded end users.”

Ninestar is using Remanexpo / Paperworld to launch Instinkt and recruit partners and is showcasing the Instinkt programme on their booth at Paperworld (Hall 6.1, booth C56) later this week.

Instinkt is a Ninestar programme, and Apex Microelectronics, part of the Ninestar Group, provides the technical support utilising their in-depth R&D development and printer OEM background. Ninestar has a global network and will roll out the Instinkt programme during 2020.

Ninestar also commented “The competition in this industry is intense. To survive this, everyone in this industry needs to change. How to change? Where is the bright future? Ninestar Instinkt creates a new possibility for future aftermarket’s profit models.”
