The company has released its third quarter consolidated and nine months cumulative business results for the fiscal year 2019.
Total net sales for the nine months period were ¥2,458 billion ($/ €), down ¥188.6 billion ($/ €) compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. Looking at the Retail & Printing Solutions business segment, net sales were ¥371.1 billion ($/ €), up ¥9.5 billion ($/ €) compared to the same period of the previous year, a growth rate of 3%.
Toshiba explains the increase in this segment with higher sales in its Retail segment in Japan but also adds, sales overseas saw a decrease. In the printing business segment, Toshiba says it has seen a decrease too.
Toshiba forecasts net sales for the Retail & Printing Solutions business segment to be ¥500 billion for the full year 2019, up 10% from the last announced forecast in November 2019.
