Face shields 3D printed by CoLiDo printer
Throughout the recent weeks of the coronavirus pandemic, technology has been at the forefront of dealing with the outbreak, bringing new innovation in all sectors.
As the coronavirus continues to evolve, more and more companies, communities and organisations start to create 3D-printed face shields to address some of the shortfalls in the medical sector.
Print-Rite has also brought a solution and has introduced the option of printing face shields with several of its CoLiDo 3D-printed models. With this in mind Print-Rite also donated face shields it printed to the efforts.
Print-Rite said: “From our experience, face masks/shields are printable in a variety of filament materials. But since us human being will be wearing the mask/shields, we recommend to use the filament materials that allow certain flexibility. PLA will be good enough for this purpose.”

HP also recently announced that together with its global digital manufacturing community, it mobilised its technology, experience, and production capacity to help deliver critical parts in the effort to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is offering through its 3D printing partners options of 3D printing masks. HP said: “We are coordinating with government, health, and industry agencies and experts in numerous countries to identify the parts most in need, validate designs, and begin production.
“Applications currently in development include nasopharyngeal swabs, FFP3 masks and ventilators.”
