Canon announced the appointment of Tony Wills as Document Solutions Business Unit Director, Canon UK and Ireland, with effect 6th April 2020.

Wills will provide strategic input on taking new products and services to market, reflective of the company’s customer-centric overarching approach, Canon explained. He will also continue to build upon the existing deep level of operational cooperation within the business, and ensure the team is fully equipped to meet the upcoming challenges of the evolving market and customers’ requirements.

Wills brings over 35 years’ extensive global industry and leadership experience across both the Corporate and SME environments, including time in Xerox, the reseller channel and 25 years in senior roles within Canon.

Tony originally joined Canon in 1984 and has held various positions including General Manager of Corporate Accounts & Information Systems, until he was appointed Marketing Director, Canon UK and Ireland, in 1999. He then moved to Canon New Zealand as Managing Director in 2002, before taking up the role of Director & Senior General Manager, Canon Australia, between 2007 and 2009. For the last 11 years Tony has held external roles within the industry, including his latest position of Commercial & Marketing Director for a major UK reseller.

Tony has supplemented his career with formal development and leadership programmes at IMD Switzerland and Henley Business School in the UK.

Commenting on the appointment, Yusuke Mizoguchi, Senior Managing Director, Canon UK and Ireland, said: “I am confident that Tony’s vast international sales and marketing experience, spanning both Direct and Indirect Sales, will ensure he is able to successfully deliver our strategic goals and drive growth in all areas of the Document Solutions organisation. I am pleased to welcome Tony back to Canon as a key member of the leadership team and wish him great success in his new role.”

Wills said: “I am delighted to be re-joining Canon UK and Ireland at such a pivotal moment in the evolution of the industry. Having been part of the Canon family in the past, I know what a great organisation it is. The products and services available are second to none, as are the people that work for the company. While the current environment is very challenging for all, I see this as an ideal time to look to the future and make the necessary adjustments to the organisation. In so doing, we will continue to deliver products and services that are of direct benefit and value to our customers to enable them to develop and thrive, whilst also future proofing their infrastructures.”
