On 25 March, Apex’s Integrated Circuit Security Chip Project based on domestic 32-bit CPU won the second prize at the Guangdong Science and Technology Innovation Conference.

The meeting was hosted by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, aiming to select the individuals that have made outstanding contributions, and excellent innovative enterprises in natural science, technological invention, science and technology progress, and scientific and technological cooperation.

Apex won the prize for the third time, after the company won the price both in 2012 and 2016.

With over ten years of background in technology and capabilities in IC chip design, Apex products extended from printer cartridge chips to printer controller SoC, and the universal MCU successfully launched in 2018, Bluetooth low consumption SoC, and network communication security chip.

The company said about the win: “Constantly innovating in crisis has always been the philosophy of Apex. The outbreak of the COVID-19 has severely damaged the economy and threatened people’s lives, made us feel the importance of science and technology and the need for innovation.

“As always, Apex will continue to focus on the development of IC industry, making its effort to the construction of a strong province of scientific and technological innovation and the implementation of building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into an international science and technology innovation centre.”
