The company has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
Founded by Stephen Armistead in 2002, Trade Copiers is a trader in photocopiers and consumables. Based in Penrith, Cumbria, on the edge of the Lake District in the UK, the company has grown to become a local business with a worldwide reach.
From its early beginnings, the company has seen the business grow steadily. From a single van and 100 square feet of rented warehouse space, with a move to new premises in 2014, it now has a fleet of vehicles, a team of over 44 staff and a 25,000 square foot (and growing) warehouse.
With a successful business working with dealers and the general public in the UK in both the consumable and copier markets, it also has a thriving market sending containers of used copiers around the world, to places such as China, UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Africa.
In Cumbria reported that Trade Copiers “has been given the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its short term growth in international trade.”
Stephen Armistead told In Cumbria: “We are absolutely delighted at the recognition. We feel immensely proud to be recognised as one of our area’s top export companies and have a great local Cumbrian team.”
At this time, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the team has been furloughed but Amistead told In Cumbria he continues to stay positive throughout this time.
