The OEM has announced that it is releasing five new models including A4 monochrome laser printers.

Describing the latest models, Canon said that it has realised compact design and high-speed output suitable for work from home and office work. The five new models are for its Satera series and includes the Satera MF269dw model, an A4 monochrome laser multifunction machine for small offices.

The new models are set for release on 11 June.

The new Satera MF260 series is the successor to the Satera MF240 series (released in September 2016), which is popular for its compact design and fast first print, Canon explained.

It is a space saving, high-speed A4 monochrome laser compound machine. Canon said that it is aimed at telework such as telecommuting where installation space is limited, work in small and medium-sized offices, medical institutions, stores, windows, etc. which it said, can be made more efficient by improving the flexibility of the installation site and shortening the output time.

The machines support a compact design with a reduced width and front operation, that allows you to add paper and replace toner cartridges from the front of the main unit, enabling installation in a limited space.

The new models realise high-speed printing of 28 sheets per minute on A4 single side and first print time of about 5.2 seconds, and at the same time, it returns from power saving mode in about 1.6 seconds. In addition, the printing speed of A5 paper (single-sided), which is often used for receipts and prescriptions at medical institutions, has been sped up, greatly improving the efficiency of counter operations at reception and settlement, Canon added.

It is equipped with a ‘SEND Lite’ function that allows users to save scanned documents directly to a shared folder on the network or send it as an e-mail attachment. It uses the bundled PC application ‘MF Scan Utility’, the scanned document data can be directly uploaded to the preset Evernote or Dropbox cloud service by only operating the main unit.

Furthermore, it is equipped with a “direct connection” function that allows users to directly send and receive data to and from up to five mobile devices over Wi-Fi at the same time, even from a smartphone or tablet without a Wi-Fi router. Users can print or scan directly.

Canon added that the market size of the A4 monochrome laser multi-function peripherals in 2020 is expected to be approximately 11.8 million units in the global market and 70,000 units in its domestic market.
