Sharp sees YoY rises in Q2

The company has released its latest consolidated financial results, recording a year-on-year (YoY) rise in net sales of 3.2%.

For the second quarter of fiscal year 2020, Sharp has recorded net sales of ¥624.8 billion ($/ €), a year-on-year increase of 3.2%. Sharp said that earnings in the second quarter were in line with its projections and outperformed the first quarter earnings. The 8K Ecosystem segment, which includes printers, saw a recovery in profits from the first quarter, despite the greater than expected impact of COVID-19.

The 8K Ecosystem segment recorded sales of ¥344.6 billion ($/ €), a year-on-year increase of 10.5%. Operating profit for the segment was ¥5 billion ($/ €).

Sharp left its financial forecast for fiscal year 2020 unchanged.
