Cartridge Save hits £9 million sales

A boom in home printing, sparked by the coronavirus outbreak, has seen Cartridge Save hit record £9 million ($11.9 million/ €10.1 million) domestic sales since March, the company reported.

Founded in 2003, Cartridge Save is the largest printer and ink retailer in the UK. As much of the nation abandoned offices, demand from household customers soared, with a 15% increase in volumes year-on-year, the retailer reported.

Since the first lockdown was imposed in March, the online ink retailer has shipped 100,000 more cartridges to homes around the nation than during the same period last year – bringing its total to 750,000.

Cartridge Save Managing Director Ian Cowley commented: “From March onwards we have seen tens of thousands of new domestic customers benefit from the unbeatable value and unsurpassed levels of customer service that Cartridge Save offers.”

Cowley added: “This year has seen the way many people work utterly transformed. As offices fall silent, the home has become where millions of us now print off our documents. It’s an unprecedented change which is likely to permanently alter our relationships with offices for good, resulting in more of us working from home more often. Over recent months we’ve seen big office suppliers like Xerox really struggling while supermarket ink sales have taken a significant hit too. At Cartridge Save we take immense pride in providing quality ink products to consumers at a price that offers significant savings. We’re committed to driving down costs while providing levels of customer service that are second to none.”
