Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd announced its new partnership with the Midlands-based independent expert Managed Print, Document, and IT services provider – Oyster.

With over 20 years’ industry experience, Managing Director at Oyster, Richard Harris, bought the business from its founder at the end of 2019 and has had a key role in establishing the partnership. Harris stated: “I have had a long working relationship with Konica Minolta, its products and support services, and have always been impressed by its justified market reputation for reliability, quality and innovation. There is a clear synergy which fits with our vision for the future.”

Richard continued: “Digitalisation is the future and Konica Minolta has embraced this evolution in the same way as Oyster. We take a consultative approach, guiding customers to find the best solutions for their specific business needs. Market interest has accelerated due to the pandemic and increased home working has resulted in organisations becoming highly receptive to the considerable practical and flexibility benefits of workplace digitalisation.”

Neil Hamilton, UK Channel Development Manager at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd, also commented: “We are excited to announce this new relationship with Oyster, a company which embodies our ideal partner – an ambitious IT enabled print supplier that is just as passionate about digital transformation and the step-change to progressive solutions and IT service as we are.” He added: “We aim to support all our partners to take the next step, by harnessing new technologies that unlock profitable new revenue streams. Richard and his team are building upon Oyster’s proud heritage to deliver such innovations and Konica Minolta is the perfect partner to take this journey with.”

Despite the ongoing market challenges from pandemic restrictions, Richard believes now is the ideal time to prepare for the future, “We are looking at opportunities, partnerships, and employee skills, poised to embrace market recovery. Undoubtedly many workers will return to offices, but hybrid working will be essential, and this provides considerable opportunities for the right business solutions providers.”

“Our business has continued to grow, even during the last twelve months, but we aren’t complacent. We understand that businesses need the best and most relevant solutions to power their operations and match expectations. Our partnership with Konica Minolta, leverages its considerable knowledge and brand, and presents the perfect springboard for us to cement the success of our business for decades to come.”

Cameron Mitchell, Business Unit Leader (Partner Channel) at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd also commented, “Digital transformation is changing the shape of the industry as customers seek partnerships with businesses who can help them visualise the workplace of the future. Oyster reflects Konica Minolta’s direction of travel and we are excited to welcome Richard and his team into the Konica Minolta partner fraternity.”
