On 18 February The Recycler reported on a fire at the Spanish waste plant which left a worker slightly injured, the company has now given a statement and update on the events.
The Directors of ECOXESTION DE SUBPRODUCTOS, S.L. issued a statement to inform about the incident with all the information they have at the moment.
The statement said: “On 15th February our facilities sited on Galicia, Spain burned for unknown reasons which are now under investigation.
“At 7:15 in the morning a uncontrolled fire appeared. It was impossible to douse for the employee working at that moment in the factory. This employee was slightly injured but, immediately, at midday, he was released from hospital and he was perfect from that day until now.
“The damages are pending on quantify but in a first review we expect that they will be very considerable. We are very grateful with all the security forces with worked together to avoid the fire reach to the nearby facilities.”
The company added that it is now looking for new premises to continue and add more of its automated processing lines and use its years of experience, since its establishment in 2014, to continue working in an “new improved plant”.
