Ricoh Company, Ltd. is joining some other OEMs who have recently been awarded a rating in the sustainability survey conducted by EcoVadis.

Ricoh has been given a Gold rating in the sustainability survey conducted by EcoVadis. This recognition places Ricoh amongst the top 5% of companies assessed in its industry in terms of sustainability performance.

EcoVadis assesses suppliers from over 160 countries and across 200 business sectors on corporate policies, initiatives and achievements in four key areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Since receiving the first Gold rating in 2014, Ricoh has consistently retained its Gold rating in the survey.

In 2019, Ricoh became the first Japanese company to participate in the Business for Inclusive Growth (B4IG) initiative to tackle inequality in workplaces and supply chains. It has also joined the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), which promotes social responsibility in global supply chains. As a result, Ricoh received high praise especially in the areas of “Environment” and “Sustainable Procurement” in this survey.

The Ricoh Group said it has identified seven priority issues (also known as material issues), aligned to 12 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Group aims to resolve these issues through its business activities in order to realise a sustainable society that balances economic, social, and global environmental issues. Ricoh will contribute to achieving the SDGs by solving social issues in the entire value chain through business and realizing a sustainable society.
