ECI announces major update to Horizon

ECI announced the biggest ever update of its Horizon and HorizonWeb software to support customers moving into the workwear market.

The demand for specialised work equipment has presented an ongoing opportunity for dealers through the pandemic, with 65% of ECI customers incorporating workwear ranges.

A staggering 85% of ECI customers have also added personal protective equipment (PPE) to their product portfolio, while 76% now deal in janitorial ranges as the demand for hygiene products such as hand sanitizer also surged.

The update includes expanded options in 3 key areas, helping Horizon customers easily import workwear product data, streamline order processes and ensure custom products not only look great on the website, but also ensure that they capture every piece of information from the customer in terms of what customisations they want.

Emma Davies-Carolan, Director of Marketing EMEA & APAC at ECI Software Solution, commented: “During the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for conventional office supplies has been disrupted, forcing many dealers to change their go to market strategy and branch out into new areas.

“Some product ranges presented more technical challenges to enter and our main focus at ECI has been ensuring that we can deliver the features needed to support our customers’ diversification, specifically helping them to focus on the unique challenges that come with dealing in customised workwear and promotional products.”

Ben Jarvis, Product Manager at ECI Software Solutions, continued: “Workwear was identified as a key growth area for a large proportion of ECI customers, however to effectively manage and process these types of orders our customers were seeking specialised capabilities from our software.

“Having taken on board this feedback, we are excited to this week launch our response, which has been a major investment for ECI in the development of the product.

“Now, when browsing for custom products the end-user can select standard options like colour and size but also utilise our fully customisable fields, allowing users to identify key data like logo position, free text, stitch density, material and font.

“The result for the customer is a fully customised shirt with order details delivered straight into Horizon. It could be a one off purchase or to fulfil an entire factory with shirts with the same design. The concept is as broad as your product range and the processes you can offer.”
