Oki: Net sales decrease year-on-year

The company has released its first quarter results with net sales and operating income generally in line with forecasts.

Oki reported net sales of ¥79.9 billion ($728 million/ €624 million), a year-on-year decrease of ¥1.5 billion ($14 million/ €12 million). Operating income decreased ¥1.9 billion ($17 million/ €15 million) to a loss of -¥3 billion (-$27 million/ -€23 million).

The components and platforms business segment, which includes printers, recorded net sales of ¥45.9 billion ($418 million/ €358 million), a year-on-year increase of ¥4.3 billion ($39 million/ €33 million). Oki said components sales increased in the first quarter. The company continued: “Demand for printer consumables increased upon the economic recovery in the Europe and the U.S. Emerging countries still facing COVID-19 impact.”

Oki added that the initial forecasts have been left unchanged.
