Oki explained that overall operating income decreased due to the decrease in sales. An extraordinary loss was recorded on restructuring costs due to closure of its printer plant in China which moved its production to the plant in Thailand.

In the Components & Platforms business segment Oki explained that the company saw a steady demand for printer consumables in Europe and the US. The production was impacted however by the shortage of materials. This material shortage Oki expects to continue into the second half.
