Counterfeiting: HP releases Fraud Report

HP Inc. has released a Fraud Report as part of its Anti-Counterfeiting and Fraud (ACF) programme.

The company has been reviewing its successes in the EMEA, APAC and the Americas. Through HP’s Anti-Counterfeiting and Fraud (ACF) Programme, the company actively educates its customers and partners to be vigilant against fake printing supplies.

It also cooperates closely with local and global law enforcement authorities to detect and dismantle illegal operations that produce counterfeit HP printing components.

Between November 2020 and October 2021, the HP Anti-Counterfeit and Fraud (ACF) team has confiscated 646,000 counterfeit print products across EMEA, an additional 400,000 across the Americas, and a further 2.5 million across the APAC region.

The Hindu reported that as part of these efforts, HP India, under the company’s ACF programme, have seized ?40 crore worth of counterfeit products between July 2020 and September 2021.

As part of its Fraud Report, HP is offering advise on how to spot fraudulent products and what users are able to do once the counterfeit product has been identified.
