Ninestar talks about patent innovation

Following the company’s recent “Patent Talk” webinar, Ninestar has written a follow-up article to provide more insights into their IP.

The recent “Patent Talk” webinar generated some very good feedback and questions that we wanted to follow up on said the company.

A key theme of the feedback was a low awareness that dozens or hundreds of patents might cover even the smallest printer cartridges. Ninestar explains, “It is no secret that patents are the “arsenal” for printer OEMs to secure their market share. It is unarguably respectable to protect the innovative inventions, having invested significantly in R&D over several years. History teaches us that only those who invest in, and respect IP will survive and thrive. Your business is no different.”

Printer OEMs are working harder to protect their intellectual property by filing lawsuits. For example, with the recent rise of e-commerce platforms, those holding IP rights are successfully requesting that products that allegedly infringe their patents are removed or taken down.

Ninestar said: “Sellers wanting to keep their businesses safe and to stay competitive must respect IPRs of the OEMs and deliver non-infringing products to the market.”

Over the last 22 years, G&G has built a portfolio of products that includes inkjet cartridges and toner, ink, ribbons, labels and even printers. Every product is based upon the internally developed designs of new, non-infringing products for the market. The product designs are all built on the company’s portfolio of over 4,885 patents and a global R&D team of 2,500 researchers, technicians, and developers.

Ninestar added: “Being the first to market holds a lot of weight. Its huge investment in R&D allows G&G to consistently be first to market with innovative products.”

This philosophy “creates long term sustainability, credibility and loyalty from end-user customers who are willing to pay more for a premium product and service,” the company added.
