Brother supports American Cancer Society

Brother International Corporation announced that the company is expanding its partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS) by sponsoring two rooms and delivering care packages to Hope Lodge patient care facilities in New York City and Memphis, TN.

The Hope Lodge provides a no cost, home-like retreat to cancer patients and their caregivers, who do not live near the hospitals where they are being treated. The service, which is run by the American Cancer Society, also provides resources about cancer and how to fight the disease.

“Supporting the efforts of the American Cancer Society has long been part of our company culture. We’re honoured to have the opportunity to help support the communities around us and deepen our relationship with ACS to ease the burden on those who look to the Hope Lodge for solace, while undergoing treatment,” said Don Cummins, President of Brother International Corporation.

Brother’s increased support of the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge includes sponsorship of a private guest room at the TN and NYC facilities for a 12-month period and providing care package of robes, slipper socks, and other comforting items to guests that stay at the Lodge. Care packages were delivered to both Hope Lodges by Brother employees, local to the Brother New Jersey and Tennessee offices.

Additionally, Brother supplied printers to the centre to ease any printing needs during guests’ stays at the lodge.

“From participating annually in Relay for Life activities to this expanded partnership with American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge, Brother has shown a strong commitment to our mission in the fight against cancer. It is because of our corporate sponsors that we are able to provide hope away from home to our guests at Hope Lodge at no cost. We are grateful for the support of the Brother team and value our continued partnership,” said Amanda McCrimlisk, Senior Corporate Relations Manager at American Cancer Society.

Over the past two decades, Brother has proudly supported the American Cancer Society in their fight against cancer and finding a cure. Each year, Brother employees and volunteers form a Relay for Life team to raise funds for new cancer treatment, medication, scholarships for medical students, advocacy, and health equity.
