Dutch Supreme Court rejects appeals

In the patent case between Samsung and Maxperian and Digital Revolution BV, which started in 2016, the Supreme Court has reviewed the initial judgements from 2016, 2018 and 2020.

The initial case ruling from 2016, which you can view here (in Dutch), concerned intellectual property, with Samsung suing Maxperian and Digital Revolution, who were among those sued by the OEM, in a case that the OEM initially lost. However, the OEM continued to fight, and 123inkt.nl, which is owned by Digital Revolution, eventually won an appeal in this specific case in 2015.

Maxperian, Digital Revolution BV and Samsung filed appeals with the Supreme Court to assess the judgements of the initial courts.

The high court published its decision on 23 December 2022 rejecting both appeals and ordering Digital Revolution BV to pay Samsung costs estimated at €79,614.50 ($86,162.89) and Samsung to pay Digital Revolution BV €13,376 ($14,476.19).
