Ninestar releases its latest ESG Report

Ninestar has released its “2022 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report” to its stakeholders and the public.

This latest report follows on from its first ESG Report the company published last year reporting on its 2021 ESG achievements.

Ninestar said it continued to improve its ESG management system and governance structure in 2022. ESG has been integrated into its business management processes to enhance environmental and social benefits while maintaining economic benefits. To achieve this, then company established an ESG committee consisting of six directors and an ESG project team to plan and coordinate ESG-related work.

The company said: “This is an important milestone in Ninestar’s sustainable development journey and demonstrates the company’s commitment to building a long-term sustainable enterprise.”

Integrity and carbon neutrality
In terms of corporate governance, Ninestar continued to improve its governance structure, internal control systems, and compliance awareness among its employees. During the reporting period, the company conducted six compliance-related training sessions, covering 564 participants, and ten anti-corruption and business ethics training sessions to promote a culture of integrity.

As part of its efforts to achieve carbon neutrality before 2060, Ninestar also proudly announced its commitment to the national “dual-carbon” target in 2022. Ninestar is actively responding to the goal of carbon peaking and adhering to a low-carbon operational concept.

To this end, Ninestar also encourages users to participate in the recycling of waste products. In 2022 alone, Ninestar recycled and remanufactured 26 million printer cartridges.

Social responsibility
As a responsible corporate citizen, Ninestar also actively participated in social charity and public welfare activities, contributing to poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. In September 2022, Ninestar donated 20 million yuan (US$2.888 million) to the Red Cross in China through its Foundation’s “Ninestar Angel of Love Program” to support public welfare projects related to serious illness assistance, health intervention, education, and environmental protection.

Ninestar’s Chairman, Jackson Wang, stated that in 2022, the company will continue to follow the United Nations’ sustainable development goals and implement the new development concept, while maintaining its mission of “assuming social responsibility, providing services to customers, realizing the ideals of employees, and creating value for shareholders.” He also emphasised that Ninestar will continue to innovate and develop with courage and responsibility to promote sustainable development.
