Sharp shows growth

The company has released its latest financial results, showing net sales increased 2.1%.

For the FY2022 period, Sharp recorded net sales of ¥2,548.1 billion ($18.91 billion/ €17.33 billion), a 2.1% increase year-on-year. The company said it achieved growth in all four segments apart from the Display Device segment. Operating profits suffered due to the weak yen and impairment losses relating to Display Devices.

Net sales during the reporting period for the 8K Ecosystem segment, which includes Sharp’s printers, were ¥591.8 billion ($4.39 billion/ €4.02 billion), a 4.3% increase year-on-year. Sharp said that the MFP and smart office business marked significantly higher sales, mainly in Europe, the Americas and Asia.

For the FY 2023 Sharp forecasts net sales of ¥2,560 billion ($19 billion/ €17.41 billion).
