Ricoh UK has announced the launch of its new Digital and Tech Solutions Degree Apprenticeship Programme commencing in September 2023.

Five successful candidates will be recruited as Digital and Tech Solutions Apprentice Consultants. The programme, run by Corndel and delivered by its higher education initiative Corndel College London (CCL), will equip apprentices with the right tools and professional skills to grow and develop multidimensional digital solutions for Ricoh customers. Tech, digital and data analytics skills will be an integral part of Corndel’s degree apprenticeships, in addition to incorporating essential business and management skills.

The 2 ½ year programme will include:

  • A blend of workshops, lectures and online learning focusing on leadership and digital skills, offering bite-sized, interactive learning content
  • Regular one-to-one coaching, mentoring and guidance from world-class professional development experts
  • Programmes tailored for all levels, including those without previous digital qualifications
  • Practical, hands-on, and applied learning that is intuitive to the job role
  • Community events and networking opportunities

Recruitment will be supported by the Prince’s Trust, Ricoh’s long-term partner, through its ‘Get Hired’ scheme.

Applicants are not required to have any previous digital qualifications, ensuring the programme is accessible to all levels and individuals. Corndel will take into account prior learning, qualifications, and experiences to develop a personalised learning plan to help apprentices develop new skills.

Glenn Griggs, Chief Executive Officer for Ricoh UK, commented: “Our new Digital and Tech Solutions Degree Apprenticeship Programme is another example of our commitment to investing in the digital skills of our current and future employees, and developing early careers talent. It is part of a broader training and development plan to close our digital skills gap and better serve our customers. I’m looking forward to meeting our future apprentices and hearing some fresh perspectives on how we can create value for our customers.”

Professor Niamh Downing, Principal and CEO of Corndel College London, commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with Ricoh UK to deliver an exceptional degree experience for their new apprentices. Our Digital & Technology Solutions Professional (Data Analyst) degree apprenticeship will equip their new talent with the techniques, skills and knowledge to meet digital demand and deliver immediate impact through technology. By integrating in-demand business and management skills into the programme, we also enable the apprentices to operate effectively as technical experts within the organisation.”
