The OEM’s activities lead to the removal of 647 listings from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and Belgium, as well as 127 listings from Amazon in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America.
Canon Inc. announced that in the third quarter of 2023, it has used the Amazon reporting tool, letters of inquiry and/or information letters to successfully remove 647 listings from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and Belgium.
Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and Belgium is 32,502.
The listings offered third-party laser printer toner cartridges from vendors that Canon believes infringed one or more of European Patent No. 2 087 407, European Patent No. 2 137 577, European Patent No. 1 977 289, European Patent No. 3 470 931 and European Patent No. 3 270 230.
Canon also announced that in the third quarter of 2023, it has used the Amazon reporting tool to report infringement based on 127 listings, all of which have now been removed from Amazon in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America.
Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America is 3,902.
