TD SYNNEX appoints Patrick Zammit as COO

TD SYNNEX announced that Patrick Zammit has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, effective 1 January 2024, reporting to the company’s CEO, Rich Hume.

In this new role, Zammit will coordinate the company’s business strategy to drive profitable growth across technologies, regions and manufacturers and accelerate the adoption of new, high-growth technologies around the globe.

Zammit has served as President for Europe at TD SYNNEX since 2017 and assumed responsibility for Asia Pacific and Japan from 2021. New leadership for TD SYNNEX’s business in Europe will be announced in the coming weeks.

He has consistently enabled his team to modernize and transform our go-to-market business model by leveraging the power of data and digital technology and setting a new standard for personalized in our market, targeted customer targeting and operational excellence,” said Hume. “His model of servant leadership has made it possible to develop new ideas to not only grow the business of TD SYNNEX and our partners, but also ensure that we are responsible people committed to making our planet a better place for our employees and our communities.”

With this change in organisational structure, the Regional Presidents in the Americas, Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) and Europe will now report to Zammit. The corporate functions responsible for global strategy and information technology will also report to him. Additionally, Michael Urban, President Americas, has decided to leave the company and has offered to support Zammit in this transition until 1 March 2024.

Zammit has been working for the company since 2017. Following Tech Data’s acquisition of Avnet Technology Solutions, he led the European region and assumed responsibility for the APJ region in 2021. Prior to joining Tech Data, Patrick Zammit held various leadership positions at Avnet since 1993. During his time at Avnet, he served, among other things, as Global President and member of the Board of Directors, and before that as President EMEA Marketing. Prior to joining Avnet, Patrick was a senior consultant at Arthur Andersen from 1989 to 1993. He holds the French equivalent of a Master’s degree in Business Administration from ESLSCA Business School and is fluent in English, French and German.
