Toshiba America Business Solutions helps raise $76,000 (€70,000) for Mitchell, S.D. non-profit, the Sam Tronnes Memorial Foundation, LLC.

Since 2017, with support from its business partners and resellers, Toshiba has supported in providing more than $325,000 (€298,000) to advocate for veterans, youth education, and boys and girls hockey throughout Mitchell.

This year’s donation is specifically enabling the Sam Tronnes Memorial Foundation, LLC to sponsor the Mitchell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2750 in building an Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible restroom, which will be critical in ensuring that wounded or aging veterans can attend events at the veteran’s association. The Foundation is utilising other money raised to provide scholarships to Mitchell High School graduating seniors and hockey equipment for area boys and girls through the South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association.

The non-profit will use further funds while collaborating with local grocery stores to provide dinner for up to 500 residents at the Mitchell Masonic Lodge on 25 December. The meal is open to anyone in the community, including those simply seeking company on Christmas Day.

“Toshiba is a firm believer and supporter of veterans, education, and youth sports,” stated Toshiba America Business Solutions President and Chief Executive Officer Larry White. “Partnering with and contributing to the Sam Tronnes Memorial Foundation, LLC allows us to help these vital causes on a community level.”

“The consistent and heartfelt support Toshiba and its partners provide our foundation positively impacts the day-to-day lives of youth and veterans in Mitchell as well as so many of those individuals across our state,” said Sam Tronnes Memorial Foundation, LLC President Dave Tronnes. “The donations will provide veterans with a safe, comfortable, and friendly meeting place to enjoy while also allowing more young men and women the chance to earn a degree or master a trade. These funds will additionally help instil the value of teamwork and relationship building for youth through sports.”

Toshiba is a 37-year manufacturer in Mitchell, S.D. employing nearly 100 people in the area. The company’s 25-acre Mitchell facility produces more than 1,200 metric tons of toner annually and is the primary global supplier of colour toner for Toshiba’s industry-recognised e-STUDIO copiers.
