The company has released its latest financial results, recording significant increases in sales and operating income.
For the reporting period, net sales were ¥286.6 billion ($1.93 billion/ €1.79 billion), a ¥30 billion ($202.6 million/ €187.9 million) increase year-on-year. Operating income was up ¥10.6 billion ($70.9 million/ €65.8 million) at ¥5.8 billion ($39.2 million/ €36.3 million). OKI said that “the increase was due to a recovery from the impact of a production decline last year and an increase in the volume of large scale projects”.
Net sales for the Component Products segment, which includes OKI’s LED printers, saw net sales of ¥62.3 billion ($420.61 million/ €390.25 million). OKI explained that “printer operating income declined due to the impact of a significant decrease in net sales on stagnant overseas demand”.
OKI revised its full year 2023 forecasts slightly downwards from its initial expectations.
