Disappearing ink now available for HP printers

Blue Planet Ink has released the new Paper Saver 302 compatible cartridge with self-erasing ink for HP printers.

The HP compatible 302 cartridge is primarily for the EU and UK markets. Paper Saver 63 cartridges are available for customers in North America with compatible HP printers.

“We are excited to make printing with HP printers far more sustainable than what HP could achieve with its own technology,” said Carl Yee, President of Blue Planet Ink. “In the lifecycle of a printer the environmental impact of paper is many times larger than the impact of the printer itself, ink or toner, and energy all combined. With our ink the same sheets of paper go blank after a few days and can be used again and again.

“HP has reached out to us several times hoping to incorporate self-erasing ink into their product line, but they have never been able to overcome internal resistance. Fortunately, Blue Planet Ink is able to provide this paper saving solution directly to HP customers.”

Paper Saver ink is a purple coloured ink that prints on normal paper and disappears after a few days so the paper can be reused. The same paper can be re-used indefinitely. With exposure to air the ink absorbs carbon dioxide and water vapor and undergoes a chemical reaction which lowers its pH. As the pH drops the dye in the ink becomes colourless and the paper looks just like new paper.
