Infosys BPO has undergone a change in moniker, with the back office services arm being renamed Infosys BPM.

Infosys has revealed that its back office services arm, Infosys BPO (Business Process Outsourcing), has been renamed Infosys BPM (Business Process Management), as ETtech reveals.

“The company has received the approval of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to change the name of Infosys BPO to Infosys BPM. The new name is effective immediately and will be implemented across the company’s services,” a company statement said.

“The change in the name signifies our vision of reimagining business processes across experience, effectiveness, and efficiency,” explained Infosys BPM CEO and Managing Director Anantha Radhakrishnan.

The company revealed that business process work has altered “significantly” in both scope and complexity in recent years and “has gone much beyond outsourcing and offshoring”.

Infosys BPM, which was established in 2002 and employs over 34,000 people in 32 global locations, “would make use of employees with business domain expertise along with technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics, rich content visualisation and mobile technologies to address business problems.”
