Vernon Township’s branch of Staples is set to close in March, with plans already “in place” to find a new tenant.

As the Meadville Tribune reveals, after having served Vernon Township for almost 2 decades, the local branch of Staples will be closing on 16 March 2018. The store is housed in the shopping plaza at 16218 Conneaut Lake Road, next to a Wal-Mart, a position it has occupied since 1999.

The location is owned by the Roosa Corporation. A company representative explained that Staples’ replacement “has not been announced yet” but “plans are in place to secure a prospective tenant”.

“We continually evaluate our store performance to ensure we’re operating the business in the best way,” Kaleigh Sands, a Public Relations Specialist from Staples Corporate Division. “As customers shift online, we are taking aggressive action to right-size our retail footprint.”

Customers in the area can continue to shop at the Staples in Erie and Hermitage, as well as online.
