OKI has announced that it was recognised as a 2018 Top 100 Global Technology Leader by Thomson Reuters. OKI was highly regarded for its efforts in Innovation, Environmental Management and Workforce Diversity.

The study, the industry’s first holistic assessment of today’s more than 5,000 leading tech companies worldwide, utilises a 28-point data-driven algorithm. The methodology, developed by Thomson Reuters, is based on eight principle pillars of performance: Financial Performance, Management and Investor Confidence, Risk and Resilience, Legal Compliance, Innovation, People and Social Responsibility, Environmental Impact, and Reputation. Among those pillars, Oki was highly recognised in Innovation, Environmental Impact, and People and Social Responsibility.

“We are proud to be recognized as a Top 100 Global Technology Leader by Thomson Reuters. This commendation is based on our continuous efforts to promote patent applications in the IoT fields, reduce environmental emissions, and maintain job satisfaction while encouraging diversity in the workplace,” said Shinya Kamagami, President of OKI. “We are the leading company in providing such advanced technological products as cash-recycling ATMs, VoIP and call center systems. All of these efforts are underpinned by our corporate philosophy, which aims to create superior network solutions and provide excellent information and communications services globally to meet the diversified needs of communities worldwide in the information age. We strive to support social infrastructures in the area of traffic, construction, disaster-prevention, medical, financial, retail and manufacturing, among many others, leveraging our distinctive IoT technologies, including 920MHz band wireless multi-hop communication systems and optical fiber sensing.”

Moving forward, the OKI Group seeks to accelerate the movement toward a safer and convenient infrastructure for its customers and society as a whole through the key Japanese concepts of “Mono-zukuri” and “Koto-zukuri,” as well as enhancing innovation-driven systems. Encouraged by this recognition, OKI will continue to refine its corporate values and help cultivate a sustainable society.
