An explosion at HP Inc.’s campus in Corvallis, Oregon, yesterday left two people injured.

Firefighter-paramedics were called to the scene at around 3:30 in the afternoon, following reports of an explosion in Building 2, Corvallis Fire Department’s Jim Patton said.

He confirmed that there had been no fire following the explosion, and no toxic or harmful materials were released into the atmosphere. The blast was put down to an exploding hydrogen generator, and the damage was limited to the room of the explosion. The cause is not yet clear.

The Corvalis Gazette-Times reports that two people were taken to the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Centre following the incident, but their identities – and the extent of their injuries – has not been revealed.

Patton added that firefighters had secured the scene, and left, by 5pm.
