Seiko Epson Corporation announced that it has won the Red Dot Award in the Product Design category (Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018) for its printers and a projector.

This year marks the second successive year that Epson products have been recognised in this award.

  • XP-8500/6000 multifunction inkjet printers
  • WF-3720/4720/4730/4740 multifunction inkjet printers
  • ET-2700/2750/3700/3750/4750 ink tank inkjet printers

Created in 1955 in Germany, the Red Dot Design Award is organised by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen design center and is recognised around the world as one of the most prestigious awards in the design field.

A jury of experts evaluates products announced during the past two years and selects the best designs based on nine criteria, including degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, ecological compatibility, and durability. This year’s winners were selected from entries from 59 countries.

The WF-3720/4720/4730/4740 was also recognised among the iF Design Award 2018 winners.

Manabu Kawahara, general manager for design in Epson’s Printing Solutions Operations Division, said, “Epson is committed to designing products that exceed the expectations of its customers. Our product design reflects this concept, as we continue to create products that make positive contributions to people’s lifestyles and work.”
