Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. has announced that it has been recognised with the 2018-2019 BLI PaceSetter Award for Smart Workplace Vision by Keypoint Intelligence-Buyers Lab.

According to the analysts, Konica Minolta was singled out for its market leading position because of its forward-looking vision of the future of work and clear roadmap for how to get customers there. It also took into account its willingness to invest in innovative technology outside the core document imaging space, specifically, its smart workplace offerings.

Notably, this includes ALICE receptionist and the Workplace Hub portfolio. Ultimately, the company’s IT services division, All Covered, culminates all of these varied technologies, and has the proven expertise to implement and manage.

Overall, Konica Minolta is pioneering technology to support the components Keypoint Intelligence identified as crucial to the Smart Workplace of the Future. These are: IT Services, Cloud Services, Security, Business Process Automation (BPA), AI, Mobility, and Unified Communications & Collaboration.

To determine which document imaging vendors are shaping the future, analysts at Keypoint Intelligence conducted a first-of-its-kind study that examined leading vendors’ approaches to the Smart Workplace. Key areas of evaluation included the company’s vision for the future workplace, its current products and services to move customers toward that vision, current and future channel and go-to-market strategies, ability to execute the vision, and more.

“Office spaces are evolving, and Konica Minolta has been evolving with them,” said Jamie Bsales, Director of Solutions Analysis at Keypoint Intelligence. “The company has a clear vision of what the Smart Workplace of the Future should include, and through a combination of in-house product development, acquisitions, and partnerships, it has been actively pursuing this vision. As a result, Konica Minolta looks to have the structure and products in place to support Smart Workplace initiatives by offering a wide portfolio that includes its core document imaging equipment and solutions, smart receptionists, collaboration systems, robotics, and advanced security video surveillance, plus the IT services to make it all work.”

“We’ve been busy re-inventing the traditional office environment,” said Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Business Intelligence Services and Product Planning, Konica Minolta. “So, to be acknowledged for our success in delivering tangible results on our vision for the digital revolution is truly satisfying. New technologies and evolving employee expectations are impacting how, when, and where we work. Konica Minolta is always working to lead the way, and to stay relevant with customers, by expanding its portfolio of products and services to address the needs of tomorrow’s marketplace. That’s what we strive to accomplish on a daily basis. We’re grateful to Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab for this recognition.”

Earlier this month Konica Minolta received the Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office Award; the OEM was also named a category leader in MFPs by IDC, while earlier this year it received the highest ranking from Brand Keys for client loyalty, and its software portfolio won 2018 Document Imaging Software Line of the Year Award.
