Printerpoint debuts customer supply ordering feature

Sepialine, the creators of Printerpoint, have announced the immediate availability of Customer Supply Ordering, a new feature designed to increase supply orders.

Printerpoint is a cloud-based printer management solution used by large format printer providers that remotely collects service, supplies and billing information for large format printers.

Customer Supply Ordering includes a branded online store where a print solutions provider’s customers can purchase supplies for their printers directly from their print provider. In addition, customers are notified when any of the printers monitored through Printerpoint are low on ink, toner or paper, so they can quickly place an order with only a few clicks.

“Printerpoint just gave us a new revenue stream for our existing customer base.” said Matt Tilton, owner of Engineering Supply and Imaging, a Michigan-based print solutions provider. “Instead of sales reps reaching out to customers each month to see if they need any supplies, Printerpoint does it for us – and we get to decide how to deliver the supplies, sent by our own warehouse or drop shipped.”

After a small data collection agent is installed on the customer’s network, Printerpoint monitors the supply levels of printers, and alerts the customer by email when it is time to order ink, toner or paper. When ordering, they have the option to add additional items, like specialty paper or other ink cartridges that may not yet be low on ink. The simple user interface makes the ordering process quick and smooth.

“We’d lose supply orders to Amazon or Staples in the past because online retailers make it easier than picking up the phone to call in an order. Now we can compete, because not only is the Printerpoint ordering process even simpler than the competition, but our customers get reminded when they need supplies, and can order by clicking the email,” continues Tilton.

“Online ordering is the norm now, but not everyone can maintain an online store.” says Jeremy Evans, CEO of Sepialine. “Printerpoint helps level the playing field by giving equipment providers an online store, branded with their own logo and colours, that shows their customers exactly the supplies they need for their printers. And the ordering process is so simple, so quick, that customers get exactly what they need delivered right to their office with only a couple of clicks.”

Printerpoint gives large format equipment providers a way to manage service, supplies and billing for their entire printer fleet. Printerpoint supports printers from HP, Canon, Océ, KIP, Ricoh, Xerox and more.

Customer Supply Ordering is included as part of the monthly $5 (€4.2) per printer cost of Printerpoint. Volume discounts are available.
