The OEM is attempting to “enhance its localisation strategy in China” as its business continues to grow.

According to Epson China’s President Akihiro Fukaishi, in the 2017 fiscal year, the company’s revenue grew by 16 percent, reports ECNS.

The company held first place in market share for projectors, robots, and scanners, whilst its inkjet printer division has grown by 36 percent since 2012, Fukaishi explained, and its high-end projector segment grew by 56 percent last year.

“Following the trend of China industrial automation, Epson robotics has grown 85 percent last year,” he said. “I’m confident that Epson robotics will maintain this growth into the future.”

Furthermore, the OEM’s b2b product offerings accounted for 76 percent of the company’s overall revenue for 2017.

As Epson looks to the future, it will aim to adhere to its Epson 25 Corporate Vision (2016-25), a strategy launched to Chinese clients in April 2016 setting out its direction over the coming decade.

“As business owners, how to meet and satisfy customers’ new demand becomes a big challenge,” said Fukaishi. “We believe that consumption upgrading brings opportunities for Epson to offer new experiences in the way we interact with space and images.”
