Nuance named IDC market share leader

Nuance Communications has been recognised by IDC as the global market share leader in print and device management for the fourth successive year.

Nuance was named as category leader in both US and worldwide revenues in the IDC’s recent report, ‘Worldwide and U.S. Device and Print Management Market Shares, 2017: Growth Opportunities in a Mature Market’.

Nuance offers a range of print management software to help organisations gain control over printing, including Equitrac, Output Manager and SafeCom, whilst Nuance Document Imaging provides software solutions and expertise to gain optimal control of document and information processes. The company’s portfolio assists organisations with their compliance with information security policies and regulations, reducing risk and assuring employees they have complete control over documents and information.

Nuance’s comprehensive solutions suite allows organisations to streamline and eliminate gaps across the full spectrum of workflows spanning the lifecycle of documents from origin to archiving; the company’s cross-platform compatibility, meanwhile, provides seamless deployment across MFPs, printers, desktops and mobile devices for IT administrators.

“The document solutions industry is witnessing significant technological advances and growing ease-of-use demands from both enterprises and their end users,” explained Allison Correia, a Senior Research Analyst in Imaging, Printing and Document Solutions at IDC. “This provides a unique occasion for vendors to address this changing landscape. Nuance is leveraging this opportunity by strategically aligning with several IDC recommendations for achieving success in this changing market, including greater cloud support, seamless scan-based and workflow automation capabilities, and enhanced document and information security.”

Miroslav Belote, Director of IT for Infrastructure, and Corporate Information Security Officer for JFK Health, explained the difference Nuance had made to his company. “Healthcare networks, like JFK Health, must grapple with two seemingly opposite goals: reduce costs while increasing security,” Belote said. “Nuance print management solutions allowed us to achieve both goals. We cut costs by driving out device and print process inefficiencies, and implemented a more secure approach to printing patient information.”

“IDC’s designation validates the capabilities and performance of our print management solutions,” said Tracey Mustacchio, senior Vice President of Product and Marketing for Nuance Document Imaging. “We’re excited about our current growth and will continue to provide our OEMs and other partners with industry-leading, innovative solutions that help enterprise customers address their most pressing document-related challenges, including maximising end-user productivity, convenience and information security.”
