The email, which has a subject that reads “Scanned from a Xerox Multifunction Printer” leads the unwary to a phishing website which steals usernames and passwords.

As Online Threat Alerts reveals, this scam is “being sent by cybercriminals to trick their potential victims into clicking on the link within it”. This link transfers them to a phishing website where they are asked to sign in to their accounts, and when they do, their username and password is retrieved by the cybercriminals. They can then use it to access their victims’ accounts “and use them fraudulently.”

Victims of the scam are being asked to change their passwords to protect their accounts.
