Konica Minolta’s positive Half Year update

The OEM’s latest consolidated financial results have been released, covering the six months from April to September 2018, and it was a succession of pleasing figures for the Japanese firm.

The company’s revenue in HY1 2018 reached ¥517 billion ($4.57 billion/€4.03 billion), a 5.9 percent increase from the figure of ¥488.1 billion ($4.32 billion/€3.8 billion) in the equivalent period of 2017.

There was further good news for Konica Minolta with its operating profit, which rose from ¥20.4 billion ($180.6 million/€159.1 million) to ¥34.6 billion ($306.4 million/€269.9 million), a 69.1 percent increase.

Profit before tax also went up, from ¥19 billion ($168.2 million/€148.2 million) to ¥33.1 billion ($293.1 million/€258.2 million), a 74 percent increase, whilst profit for the period climbed to ¥23.2 billion ($205.4 million/€181 million), from 2017’s ¥13.5 billion ($119.5 million/€105.3 million), a 72.2 percent rise.

The company’s total comprehensive income for the period was ¥39.7 billion ($351.6 million/€309.7 million), up 39.9 percent from the first half of 2017.
