Presto Printing marks four decades

The oldest downtown business in South Plainfield is celebrating 40 years in business.

As TAPintoSouthPlainfield reports, the business has been going strong for four decades now from its location on South Plainfield Avenue. Presto deals with both individual and corporate projects, providing a wide range of services including “business cards, mailers, brochures, fliers, posters, lawn signs, invitations and announcements, digital high-speed colour copying and Fund Raisers.”

“I consider myself honoured and blessed to be able to have served this wonderful community for 40 years,” stated Presto Printing’s owner Rich DePinto. “I’ve been here a long time and truly enjoy being a part of a small town. I’m also proud to be the oldest business here in South Plainfield’s downtown.”

DePinto first purchased Presto, along with two investors in 1978, and four years later he took over and began running it on his own. In 1986, feeling the need to expand, the business relocated to its larger current premises across the street.

“Over the years, you get to know the people, many who are return customers,” said DePinto, adding, “Being in the same location has gave me the opportunity to foster so many great relationships with my customers; they always know where to find me.”

During his time as helmsman of Presto, “much has changed”, with faxing and hardcopy proofs being replaced by emails and digital proofs.  “Moving into the digital age has had its challenges, but I have adapted to the changes and found success by embracing technology,” said DePinto.

Presto Printing prides itself on its personalised approach to customer service, with DePinto saying the goal has always been “to provide customers with one-on-one personal attention, reliability and service”.

“People who have gone to the bigger stores usually come back for the personalised attention or because we are able to put a rush on things those other places can’t,” he said, adding, “We can accommodate our customers much better.”
