Working together, HP and UAE authorities have confiscated “significant volumes” of illicit HP-branded counterfeits through a series of successful raids.
As tahawultech reports, between July and December 2018 officials in the UAE – in collaboration with HP – conducted raids on “a number of clandestine workshops and private residences”, both in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
During these raids they discovered and confiscated a “significant” number of counterfeit cartridges, with a total of over 450,000 products being seized during that time frame.
The manufacture and sale of such counterfeits can cause a variety of problems, including damage to consumers’ printers in terms of both performance and reliability. By contrast, HP’s products have been designed to meet “strict quality and reliability standards” and are tested accordingly.
