The OEM’s Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer has been named one of Black Enterprise’s ‘Most Powerful Women In Corporate America.’

“A black woman may not be the image that comes to mind for most people when they hear corporate power – and it certainly won’t be the result of a Google search – but around here, we know better,” explained Black Enterprise, which has listed 136 women as “the crème of the crop of the most powerful black women in corporate America.”

These 136 women, the website writes, “have succeeded by leading with performance, deeply understanding their company culture, deftly navigating the corporate landscape, and – above all- wisely wielding their power to determine their own destiny.”

“Women of colour are remaking the face of leadership teams and C-suites at corporations across the country and around the globe,” Black Enterprise added.

Xerox’s Morno-Wade, one of the 136 women included in the roster, shared her own reflections on diversity, inclusion, and creativity with the OEM.

“I truly believe a company can be successful by having diverse thoughts and opinions,” explained Morno-Wade, who first joined Xerox in 2016 as Vice President of Total Rewards, having previously held posts at Quantum, Hess, Mitsubishi, General Electric, and Quaker Oats, and who rose to her current position last year.

“There have been a lot of studies that have said the more inclusive people are, the more engaged they are, and the more creative ideas come about,” she continued. “In our business, we need people to have very diverse and creative thoughts.”
