Officeworks’ new store “world’s biggest”

The Australian supplier of office products and services will officially open a new, larger format store in Mentone, Victoria on Saturday.

At almost 6,500 square metres, the store is four times the size of the average Officeworks store, and will showcase a huge range of Officeworks’ products and services, as well as provide an “exceptional customer experience” including interactive tech stations, the largest Apple offer in the network and more than 1,000 square metres dedicated to office furniture.

The store will become an integral part of Officeworks’ ‘every channel’ strategy, acting as another fulfilment centre for the network and enabling the retailer to offer “faster, more compelling and convenient” delivery options to customers, particularly those living on the Mornington Peninsula.

“Customers have responded really positively when we’ve expanded our offer in the past, so we know there’s an appetite for us to keep evolving to keep pace with what’s important to them,” Officeworks Managing Director, Sarah Hunter, said. “Officeworks Mentone is not only the biggest store in our network, but also the biggest office supplies store in the world. We hope that visiting the new store encourages our customers to reimagine what Officeworks means to them and consider how we can help them make things happen in their lives.”

Officeworks Director Phil Bishop added: “The Mentone store is designed to be a one-stop shop delivering exclusive benefits to customers including the largest Print, Copy & Create centre in the network, more than 35,000 stationery, tech and furniture products, and a network-first on-site café and children’s playground.”

“In this destination store, our three strategic pillars are showcased in a way that is completely unique to our network,” Bishop continued. “Widest range is intensified with the expansion of more than 20 categories, all available at low prices, and the way customers experience great service will change with a dedicated team across a number of interactive zones.”

Officeworks Mentone will employ a team of around 150 people from the local community and will begin trading on Saturday 23 March 2019.
