Spotted in Europe

The HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 printer has been seen on sale in the European market retailing at 800 Turkish Lira ($144/ €127).

The popular 3-in-1 (Print, scan and copy) inkjet printer is targeted at high volume home and home office market and has a small, space saving footprint, is mobile friendly and uses individual (CMYK) ink bottles.

Versatile printing

Connectivity is good and you can connect with the printer through a variety of devices utilising Wi-Fi direct and iPhones and iPads via AirPrint. It also works with Mac and Windows 8 and 10.

Key Features

  • Small footprint
  • Wi-Fi and mobile printing
  • Up to 8,000 colour or 6,000 black pages.
  • Print, copy, scan
  • Ink tank system

Downside

The printer is targeted at emerging markets and is not normally available in Europe and users will be locked in to using HP supplies because other inks might not be available in the European market.

Duplexing – A bit cheeky here. HP have not incorporated automatic duplexing into the printer. They describe duplexing as manual, as in turn the page over and put it back in the printer.

Sales Hype – HP promotes “High volume printing for less” – You might be forgiven for thinking this is a wonder printer on a budget. But the paper tray only holds 60 sheets and the monthly duty cycle is just 1000 pages. Hardly a high-volume printer.

Our view 4/10

It’s not cheap compared to the Epson Expression Home XP-442 and users may find they are locked into using HP inks as other lower cost inks might not be available in the European market. The lack of automatic duplexing, small capacity paper tray and 1000-page duty cycle don’t equate to a high-volume printer.
