County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust selects Lexmark as its supplier of choice for Managed Print Services.

Lexmark announced that it has been chosen by County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT) as its supplier of choice for Managed Print Services (MPS).

CDDFT is one of the largest integrated organisations in the country, providing hospital and community services to a population of over 650,000. They have a workforce of over 8,000 colleagues. Lexmark will initially introduce a flexible smart MPS platform to enable future digital transformation strategies. This project supports the NHS’s drive towards interoperability and paperlite working environments, whilst maintaining the need to use resources efficiently and effectively, Lexmark explained.

The sheer scale and size of the organisation, spread over a number of different sites, meant that the project was complex from the outset and CDDFT needed a partner with experience of distributed fleets and a supplier who would be able to maximise the efficiency of mobile working.

“Lexmark was a clear leader in our review of the market. They have a number of large NHS Trusts as customers and really understand the changing requirements of the current landscape. Our organisation is constantly evolving with people and services being in a state of flux,” commented Clare Povey, Associate Director of Procurement, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.

With more staff and clinicians working remotely across multiple sites and in order to ensure productivity and efficiency Lexmark has been chosen by CDDFT to help implement robust Managed Print Services. Lexmark’s MFP implementation will also help provide insights and analytics to reveal areas of focus, where the Trust can reduce printing and the associated costs over the term of the contract.

Data and information are both critical for managing quality and efficiency performance across the care pathway. To correctly manage quality and efficiency on a regular basis, seamless real-time data is needed, which requires investment in interoperable information technology.

“Best practice MPS is not just about multifunctional devices and printers; it’s really about the staff and how they can become more effective. Lexmark MPS devices become productivity tools for better information access and more productive processes,” commented Nick Reed Enterprise Sales Director, Lexmark Global Services, UK & Ireland. “Lexmark has been at the leading edge of MPS for many years. Our professional consultants have completed thousands of assessments of complex and distributed environments throughout the UK and globally.”
