The company said it is aware of the news regarding the “URGENT/11” security vulnerabilities in the TCP /IP stack (Ipnet) of Wind River VxWorks OS which were disclosed on 29 July 2019.

Ricoh said these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to execute code remotely and take control of an affected device.

The company added: “The security and integrity of our customer’s data and devices remains of utmost importance to Ricoh. We have confirmed that Ricoh MFPs, Printers, Production Printers, Digital Duplicator, Interactive White Boards, Projectors, Unified Communication Systems, Solutions, and Magnetoencephalography (MEG) are NOT affected by these URGENT/11 vulnerabilities. Investigation of the remaining Geljet MFPs listed below will be completed shortly.”

Remaining Geljet MFPs still under investigation are the Ricoh Aficio SG 3100SNw, Aficio SG 3110SFNw and SG 3120BSFNw devices.

Ricoh said its technology and security experts continue to work closely with other hardware and operating system vendors to develop an industry-wide approach to resolve this issue promptly and constructively.

As more information becomes available, Ricoh will provide updates to this web page.
