Earlier this week HP announced a successor for Weisler who will be stepping down in November, which according to news reports seems to be the beginning of a big shake-up in direction and management for the OEM.
CRN reported that HP is looking to launch a brand new global organisational sales structure on 1 November with the appointment of a Chief Commercial Office (COO), Christoph Schell, who will be starting in the new role by the side of Enrique Lores the newly announced CEO.
Lores and Schell spoke with CRN about the new organisation which will see HP move away from its three-region (Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific) structure to a set of ten geographic market structure. Each new market will be led by a newly appointed Managing Director who will report to the new COO Schell.
According to CRN, The US and Canada region will be headed up by Stephanie Dismore, currently Channel Chief for Americas and current General Manager and Global Head of Office Printing Solutions, Tuan Tran, will be promoted to President of Imaging, Printing and Solutions.
Lores told CRN: “We are embarking on a multi-year transformation. Some key elements of the transformation are the need to simplify our operating model, to simplify how we work and to become more digitally enabled—while at the same time evolving our business models, so we can deliver a better value proposition to our customers.”
HP is looking to expand the contractual sales model and is looking to push Device-as-a-Service offerings and MPS deals.
Schell and Lores told CRN that they are not expecting any disruptions for their channel partners while the reorganisation is taking place.
Further replacements and new appointments have not been named yet.
