Canon continues fight on Amazon

The OEM has requested more removals of toner cartridges offered by Douglas Inks and Laser Tek Services, Inc from Amazon.ca and PANCONTINENT and QWEN from Amazon.com.

Canon Inc. announced the filing of an infringement report with Amazon.ca seeking removal of an Amazon.ca listing for certain toner cartridges sold by Douglas Inks.

Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model CC530A, CC531A, CC532A and CC533A toner cartridges sold by Douglas Inks via Amazon.ca infringed Canon’s Canadian Patent no. 2,635,791. Canon requested the removal of the corresponding listings for these products, namely, Amazon Standard Identification Numbers B07LFM4G1L, B07LFLSN9W, B07LFLCLVF, B07LFLP8DC, B07LFLJHC9, B07LFN43DR, B07LFLVY49, B07LFLQDZY B07LFLX4MZ and B07LFLDJ7L.

The OEM also filled an infringement report with Amazon.ca seeking removal of an Amazon.ca listing for certain toner cartridges sold by Laser Tek Services, Inc.

Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model CC530A, CC531A, CC532A and CC533A toner cartridges sold by Laser Tek Services, Inc. via Amazon.ca infringed Canon’s Canadian Patent no. 2,635,791. Canon requested the removal of the corresponding listings for these products, namely, Amazon Standard Identification Numbers B00M28AKJ4, B007JUU8II, B007JUT91U, B00M28AHVK, B00M28AI14, B00M28AY4K, B00M28AJWM, B00M28AW0Q, B00M28AFUS and B00M28ANTQ.

At the time of this announcement, products sold under the above identified listings were no longer available on Amazon.ca. Filing an infringement report with Amazon.ca is a service offered by Amazon and does not constitute an official finding of infringement. The decision to take down a product is in the discretion of Amazon and is based on information provided by Canon.

In addition, Canon announced the filing of an infringement report with Amazon.com seeking removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by PANCONTINENT for use in HP laser beam printers.

Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model HP 126A toner cartridges sold by PANCONTINENT via Amazon.com infringed Canon’s US Patent No. 8,688,008. Canon requested that Amazon remove PANCONTINENT’s listings for those products, namely, PANCONTINENT listings with Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (“ASINs”) B077ZLWKWK, and B07NBVR8R6.

Also filed was an infringement report with Amazon.com seeking removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by QWEN for use in HP laser beam printers.

Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model HP 126A toner cartridges sold by QWEN via Amazon.com infringed Canon’s U.S. Patent No. 8,688,008. Canon requested that Amazon remove QWEN’s listings for those products, namely, QWEN’s listings with Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (“ASINs”) B0722XTZ7X, B0794WTCX5, B07CYM7W4Y and B07CYR34V9.

At the time of this announcement, the above-identified listings were no longer available on Amazon.com.

Canon remains committed to pursuing legal enforcement against those who do not respect Canon’s intellectual property.”
