The Virginia-based company has resolved its dispute with a General Services Administration.
Accenture Federal Services LLC, of Reston, has agreed to pay $1.7 million (€1.3 million) in order to settle an overcharged government contract.
The overcharges arose from unauthorised purchases of copy toner, according to the United States Department of Justice, which had been made by a subcontractor on the contract. This was disclosed to the US Army Contracting Command by Accenture, according to the Contractor Code of Business Ethics and Conduct, under the Federal Acquisition Regulations. Accenture complied with, and provided assistance to, the governmental investigation.
The resolution agreement was obtained after coordinated effort between the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Army Criminal Investigation Command. The civil claims that have been settled are allegations only, and there has been no determination of civil liability.
