ARMOR plumbs new markets with OWA speaker

The Nantes-situated group is continuing the development of its flagship OWA speaker, which is now being launched on various B2B and B2C markets.

The speaker’s production was financed by a successful crowdfunding campaign, which ran for 45 days, “and found support among those interested in designing responsible products which are both attractive and hi-tech,” as Pierre-Antoine Pluvinage, ARMOR 3D’s Development Manager, explained.

The OWA speaker is the first official product of ARMOR 3D, the branch of ARMOR dedicated to 3D printing. The housing of the illuminated Bluetooth speaker is constructed from eco-designed OWA 3D filaments and it is fully customisable in terms of shape, pattern and colour, as ARMOR explains.

In terms of marketing, the company is first targeting the B2B sector, which includes hotels and real estate developers such as Cogedim.

“We decided to buy OWA speakers as it is a product that reflects the image we are seeking to portray, in a world awash with new technologies. And just as 3D printing allows flexible production of the object, we also strive to adapt to the changing needs of our clients,” commented Cogedim Quest’s CEO, Jérôme Beauvois.

However, ARMOR also plans to plumb the B2C market with its flagship speaker.

“Through new products available to the general public we are seeking to raise the awareness of our New Techs, namely the technologies that are in the process of revolutionising the world of materials, emphasised Hubert de Boisredon, CEO of ARMOR. “3D printing offers on-demand, bespoke and local production, and we add to these naturally sustainable qualities the ability to use our recyclable materials.”
